Right on one of the most famous historical hiking trails of France, le Canal des Moines, lies the centuries-old B&B (Chambres d'Hôtes) ‘Le Saut de la Bergère’. From the cozy terrace of this B&B you can hear the waterfall that is located on the famous Canal des Moines.
Le Saut de la Bergère (the leap of the shepherdess) owes its name to the myth of the shepherdess who jumped from a rock onto the Canal des Moines but was saved by an angel. In addition to the Canal des Moines, Le Saut de la Bergère is the perfect base for various beautiful hiking trails and wonderful places to visit.
In our house, a former hotel that has been renovated in recent years, there are 4 spacious guest rooms equipped with modern comfort. When the weather is nice, you can relax with a magnificent view, have a drink in the sun and dine under the illuminated trees in the evening. You can also quietly read a book or relax in comfortable chairs in front of the ‘cantou’ with wood stove or have a drink at the intimate bar.
In the department of Corrèze you will find peace, space, nature and culture. The countryside with small-scale farms but also the historic towns and beautiful villages such as Collonges-la-Rouge, Turenne, Uzerche, Argentat and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. And cities such as Brive-la-Gaillarde with a historic center where you can find the shops and entertainment of the 'big city'. The Corrèze borders the Lot and the Dordogne, where the more touristic places are, such as Martel, the Caves of Padirac and Lascaux and cities such as Sarlat-le-Canada and Rocamadour. All within a radius of a maximum of one hour's drive!
